Today in Chisinau took place the 5th meeting of regional sector working group (RSWG), Energy Efficiency (EE) in public buildings on the implementation of the Regional Sector Programme (RSP) and evaluation of Possible Project Concepts (CPP).

During the meeting was discussed the implementation of the Regional Sector Programme in Energy Efficiency Sector (public buildings) in the Centre Development Region. Experts presented to the sector working group members the evaluation result of Possible project Concepts (PPC) in terms of providing Viable Project Concept status (CPV). Those present were familiar with the list of priority VPC for Centre Development Region, approved by the inter-ministerial committee on 11 November this year.

For the Centre Region were selected five VPC in therayons: Ungheni, Soldanesti, Calarasi, Dubasari and Straseni, and soon will be created Project Teams for each of them. During today’s meeting were discussed the role and responsibilities of the members of the project teams.

This meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Regional Development and Construction, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Education, Energy Efficiency Agency, Centre Regional Development Agency, energy managers, and experts of MLPS project.

These workshops are organized with the support of the project ‘Modernization of Local Public Services (MLPS)’, Intervention Area 2: Regional Planning and Programming, which aims to provide support the Ministry of Regional Development and Construction and the RDAs in the regional planning process in EE sector in Development Regions North, South and Centre.

We would like to recall that on 12 February 2014, the Centre Regional Development Council approved the Regional Sector Programme in Energy Efficiency (public buildings). This is an operational tool in regional planning, which aims at enhancing the capacity of LPAs in development of sustainable regional projects and create conditions for development of projects portfolio in energy efficiency, incorporating the development needs of targeted sector in Development Regions, respecting its compliance with sector policies, existing practices and relevant strategic framework.
