On 3 May, 2018, at the Ustia Mayor’s Office the first meeting of members of Local Steering Committee (LSC) of ‘Construction of sewage system and waste water treatment plant in Ustia village from Dubasari rayon’ project took place. The event was organised in cooperation with the ‘Modernization of Local Public Services in the Republic of Moldova’ (MLPS), implemented by the German Development Cooperation through GIZ.

At the meeting the composition of LSC was presented and its operating rules were approved. Aurelia Uritu, mayor of Ustia village was elected as chair of LSC. Additionally, for the successful implementation of the project ‘Construction of sewage system and waste water treatment plant in Ustia village from Dubasari rayon’, the obligations of local project manager, the report on project implementation for the first three months of 2018 and activities planned for quarter II of this year were presented.  

As a result of the first implementation stage of ‘Construction of sewage system and waste water treatment plant in Ustia village from Dubasari rayon’ project, 28.6 km of sewage networks, three waste water pumping stations and a waste water treatment plant will be constructed. The costs for the design phase amount to MDL 1.9 million.

The project for the construction of sewage systems in Ustia will be carried out in 2017-2020. The estimated value of works is EUR 1.2 million provided by the European Union via the MLPS project.
