Vasile Bitca, Minister of Regional Development and Construction (MRDC) had a meeting with Ulrike Knotz, Ambassador of Germany in Moldova, yesterday afternoon, 10 March 2015.

The officials discussed about the projects funded by the German Federal Government in regional development sector in Moldova, the bilateral cooperation between the two countries, the technical and financial assistance provided by the German Federal Government for Regional Development Agencies (RDAs) and the situation regarding decentralization at the country level.

The Minister, Vasile Bitca thanked the German Government for the support provided for the development of our country’s regions, including for the financial support from the German Development Cooperation through GIZ (GIZ) to improve water and sanitation services, energy efficiency in public buildings and solid waste management, as well as to provide technical assistance in regional development.

‘The German government was and is interested in issues related to regional development in Moldova, and we would like to thank you for your help and ask you to continue the Germany’s support and exchange of experience and best practices in the field of reference’. At the same time, Vasile Bitca said that MRDC is open for further cooperation with GIZ, which proved to be very successful and productive in time’.

In turn, H.E. Ulrike Knotz congratulated Vasile Bitca for appointment and wished him good luck and perseverance in his future activity. Also, Her Excellency expressed the willingness of the German people to further support the regional development and the European course of the Republic of Moldova.
