Members of Local Steering Committee (LSC) of ‘Increasing Energy Efficiency of Theoretical Lyceum ‘Ion Vatamanu’’ project from Straseni town convened on 7 May for the first time. The event was organised in cooperation with the ‘Modernization of Local Public Services in the Republic Moldova’ (MLPS) project, implemented by the German Development Cooperation through GIZ.

At the meeting the composition of LSC was presented and the Operational Rules of the Committee were approved. Mihail Popa, president of Straseni rayon was elected as chairman of LSC, and Veronica Bodean, director of Lyceum ‘Ion Vatamanu’ as vice chair of LSC.

Also, the responsibilities of project managers, the report on project implementation for the first three months of 2018 and activities planned for the 2nd quarter of this year were presented.
Following the implementation of ‘Increasing Energy Efficiency of Theoretical Lyceum ‘Ion Vatamanu’” project from Straseni and as a result of 17 investment measures, the building of the lyceum will be renovated and made energy efficient. At the same time the annual regulated energy consumption will be reduced by 157 MWh.

During 2017-2020, as part of the project implemented in Straseni, investments in the amount of EUR 950.000 will be made. The funds are provided by the European Union via the MLPS project.
