Between 14 to 15 May 2014 in Vienna, Austria, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Moldova together with other 200 members of the global network of European energy managers from 15 countries participate in the fifth International Conference of the European Energy Managers – EUREM . The event is held annually in order to facilitate the exchange of experience and acquisition of new practices in energy efficiency.

Vladimir Didilica, Vice President of CCI of Moldova, said that within the EUREM Conference are presented case studies and organized trainings for quality management of energy resources. Participants in the event can choose workshops on topics related to energy management according to international standards ISO, energy efficiency in the food industry, solar applications in trade and industry, technology, refrigeration and air-conditioning technologies etc. 

‘EUREM is a standardized training and a successful network for its graduate managers. EUREM program is developed by Germany and is already underway in 25 countries and in Moldova is conducted by the Centre for Continuing Education of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry since 2011. During this period, according to the German standard there were trained about 60 energy managers  including 11 public sector officials.

EUREM ensures that each graduate manager possess basic knowledge in all relevant aspects of energy domain and has the ability to retrieve specific know -how to implement in practice energy efficiency projects ‘, said the Vice President of CCI.

EUREM training program is conducted in 19 countries of the European Union (Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Greece, Italy, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Hungary, Estonia, Poland, Romania, etc.), as well as in Brazil , Egypt, Chile and other countries.

The participation of representatives of CCI of Moldova in EUREM Conference and training of 11 civil servants was co-financed by the German Development Cooperation through GIZ.
