Public procurement procedures is the topic of the training organised for representatives of Local Public Authorities under the ‘Modernization of Local Public Services in the Republic of Moldova’  (MLPS) project.

On 31 January 2018, representatives of Local Public Authorities level I and II got acquainted with public procurement procedures in line with European Union standards and with the role of the Working Group in the public procurement process.

The event was opened by Valentina Plesca, GIZ/MLPS National Senior Advisor in the field of local public services: ‘The goal of this event is to train the members of the working group on public procurement as regards European Union procedures in this field, as well as raise awareness for all involved in this comprehensive and responsible process. The successful implementation of joint projects depends on the results of the working group. It is necessary that the financial means provided are used in a correct, transparent and efficient manner’.

The training course was moderated by Adrian Mihailescu, an international expert in the field of public procurement from Romania, who presented information and case studies regarding the general framework and main aspects of public procurement procedures, selection and awarding criteria, as well as contractual matters.

Over 45 representatives of Local Public Authorities of level I and II from North, Centre and South Development Regions of the Republic of Moldova took part in the event.
