Members of the Local Steering Committee (LSC) of ‘Increasing energy efficiency in Gymnasium ‘Iurie Boghiu’ from Flamanzeni’ project met on 20 July, Friday in a second meeting organised at Singerei Rayon Council premises. At the meeting, the activities from the implementation plan and the project monitoring report were presented. Also, the activities from the implementation plan for the July-September period were discussed.

The meeting was chaired by Lilia Cumpata, chairwoman of LSC, director of the gymnasium. The chairwoman of LSC greeted the members of the Committee and mentioned that it is important for every stakeholder to actively participate in the successful implementation of the project.

Members of LSC approved the plan of activities for Quarter III and were presented the report for Quarter II.  In this context, Vitalie Garbu, project manager and secretary of LSC pointed out to the main tasks carried out during April-June 2018 period.

The director of the gymnasium, Lilia Cumpata, stresses that with energy efficiency measures in the educational institution, better teaching conditions for children studying here will be ensured and for the teachers and technical staff, also.

The aim of this LSC is to provide solutions for issues which could appear during the implementation of the project and give more ownership to parties involved at local level.

As result of project implementation, the standardised annual energy consumption of the gymnasium in Flamanzeni village will be reduced by 552 MWh and the annual standardised CO2 emissions – by 118 tons. The estimative value of the project is EUR 1.264 million.
