Independent Press Association (IPA) held a press club on regional development.
The Press Club was attended by journalists from local and regional media institutions in the rayons of the North Development Region, the Director of North Development Agency (RDA North), Ion Bodrug, managers of regional development projects, leaders of NGOs that are dealing with issues related to regional development. The discussions focused on different aspects of regional development as a national key priority.
The RDA North Director, Ion Bodrug, who stressed the importance of such meetings with journalists, spoke about the role of RDA North in the region and about the major ongoing projects. "Journalists are called friends of regional development. We usually have very good relationships with the media representatives", the director of North RDA revealed.
Participants at the press club discussed the positive and negative aspects that had emerged in the last two years since Northern RDA had been implementing regional development projects in the north of the country.
The discussions with journalists were attended by Sergiu Culibaba, manager of the projects "Connecting the Free Economic Zone "Balti" to municipal utilities: water, sewerage, electricity, access roads" and "Supporting private sector development and investment attraction process in North Development Region by building water supply and sewerage networks for the sub-zone no. 3 of the Free Economic Zone „Bălţi" and Vasile Patraşca, manager of the project „Repair of the Local Road Sector L-37 «Lipcani-Balasineşti-Corjeuţi-Târnova".
The meeting with journalists was moderated by Petru Macovei, Executive Director of IPA. "I am sure that the today discussions have been very useful. I now have a better understanding of the regional development. I encourage you to have a better documentation basis when you prepare media reports on this topic. First, do not hesitate to contact any time people who are directly involved in regional development", the Executive Director of IPA said.
The event took place with the support of the "Modernization of local public services in Moldova" project, with sources provided by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The project is implemented by the German Development Cooperation through GIZ in partnership with the Ministry of Regional Development and Construction.
