The German Government will provide EUR 335,000 for the increasing of energy efficiency in the Calarasi Rayon Hospital. In this context, on 29 February 2016 the Ministry of Regional Development and Constructions (MRDC) together with the German Development Cooperation (GIZ), Centre Regional Development Agency (RDA Centre) and Calarasi Rayon Hospital signed a Memorandum of Understanding aiming at the efficient implementation of the project.
Vasile Bitca, minister of Regional Development and Constructions stated that: ‘this project’s goal is to modernize the local public services in Calarasi Rayon. Thus, the works will be carried out within the ‘Modernization of Local Public Services in the Republic of Moldova‘ project, financed by the German Investment Support fund. The boiling house will undergo renovation works, also a heating substation and a solar thermal system will be installed”. The minister, also, thanked the international partners for the trust and support provided to the Republic of Moldova in the implementation of regional development projects.
Alexandru Muravschi, GIZ national leading policy advisor emphasized German Government’s willingness to further support the Republic of Moldova in the balanced development of the country’s regions and its availability to provide support to Calarasi local public authorities at all stages of project implementation.
In turn, Sergiu Artene, Calarasi Rayon president thanked the parties to the Memorandum for the initiation of the project.
The document, signed at MRDC central office, sets out the role and responsibilities of parties in the project implementation, terms and conditions for cooperation, as well as, steps to streamline the local public services from Calarasi Rayon and the expected results.
The project ‘Modernization of local public services in the Republic of Moldova’ is implemented by the German Development Cooperation through GIZ and is financially supported by the German Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the Swedish Government, the Romanian Government, the European Union and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
