On Tuesday, 10 July the activities for the development of technical design for the main water pipeline in Riscani rayon (Cluster Prut), water supply networks for Pascauti, Damascani, Proscureni from Costesti commune and for waste water treatment and sewage systems in Galaseni, Malaiesti and Hiliuti villages, Riscani rayon kicked off. This follows the signing on 3 July of design service contract for the development of construction documentation for improvement of water supply and sanitation services in the six localities in Riscani rayon between North RDA, Riscani Rayon Council, municipality of Costesti town, administration of Galaseni commune, administration of Hiliuti village and company ‘Fluxproiect’ SRL, the winner of the public tender.
At the kick-off meeting for activities related to the development of technical design, Veronica Savin, specialist from the North RDA Division on project management specified that the project for the improvement of water supply and sanitation services in the six localities is of major significance as the supplying drinking water to localities is one of the country’s most important objectives.
In this regard, both the design company and the direct beneficiary of the project were reminded of identifying all optimal technical solutions in order to achieve planned results in implementing the project.
According to the project, in six localities from Riscani rayon 19,6 km of drinking water distribution networks will be constructed, as well as 40 km of sewage networks. Also, a main water pipeline, 26 km long will be laid. Besides this, as part of the project, in the six villages 3 waste water treatment plants, 1 drinking water treatment plant and 1 pumping station for 28 localities in Riscani Rayon will be constructed.
This project is financed by the European Union under the ‘Modernization of Local Public Services in the Republic of Moldova’ project implemented by the German Development Cooperation through GIZ in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment and is financially supported by the German Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the Swedish Government, the Romanian Government and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
