During 20-25 November, representatives of water supply and sanitation public service operators, management of Moldova Apa Canal Association (AMAC), management and trainers of the Institute of Continuous Training in Water Supply and Sewerage sector for AMAC members from the Technical University from Moldova (ICTWSS) are exchanging best practices with their Romanian counterparts in the field of management of human resources.
As a result of working meetings and field visits to the operator SC Raja SA Constanța, Water Company SA Buzau and Regional Operator Apavital S.A. Iasi, the operators will get acquainted with: functional approaches in managing human resources in the context of regionalisation of an operator, sustainable service management, development and implementation of infrastructure projects, efficient relations with clients, documenting the volumes of services delivered, management of water losses and tariff policy.
The topics of the working sessions and field visits were identified as a result of an exercise on needs assessment organised together with AMAC which is based on the methodology of the National Programme on Capacity Building of WSS operators organised by ICTWSS.
In addition, the managers of the companies, the management and trainers from ICTWSS will learn from Romanian experience how to organise and efficiently manage training centres focusing on the training needs assessment approach, training methods, scope of training curriculum and coherent monitoring of trainings’ efficiency.
The visit will, also, include sharing experience with the regional operator Apa Canal Cahul SA as regards regionalisation of water supply and sanitation public service by registering a regional operator and implementing an investment project at the water treatment plant modernised with the support of the Modernisation of Local Public Services in the Republic Moldova (MLPS) project implemented by German Development Cooperation through GIZ.
The event is organised by AMAC in cooperation with Human Resources and Social Dialogue Commission of Romanian Water Association (RWA) with MLPS support.
